Nature-Based Day Camps

Fun and exciting adventures await your child. Campers will discover nature and wildlife while being educated about caring for our environment. Camps take place when Pinellas County schools are on “holiday” break. See information below for ways to create amazing childhood memories. Sprouts Camp

Boyd Hill Nature Preserve Lake Maggiore Environmental Education Center
Ages: 3 to 4 (Children must be potty trained)
Date: November 19 - 21, 2018
Time: 9 a.m. to 12 p.m.
Cost: $40

Each day our program includes a combination of nature stories, songs, games, crafts, and hikes to explore the outdoors. Our goal is to nurture a child’s curiosity, help them acquire developmentally appropriate skills, and instill appreciation and respect for our natural world. Limit of 15 campers.

Young Naturalist Camp

Ages: 5 to 6
Date: November 19 - 21, 2018
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. • Extended Care 8 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 5 p.m.
Cost: $80
• Extended Care $15
Young Naturalist Camp focuses on nature and science topics. Exciting activities include nature hikes, games, and animal and plant studies. Campers explore the natural world, learn to share discoveries, work together, develop their personal creativity, and have fun. Limit of 20 campers.

Turtle Camp

Ages: 7 to 11
Date: November 19 - 21, 2018
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. • Extended care 8 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 5 p.m.
Cost: $90
• Extended Care: $15
Explore the fascinating world of turtles with hands-on learning, hikes, and live animal encounters. Campers spend time on the trails studying gopher tortoises, box turtles, and aquatic species. Limit of 30 campers.

Earth Science Camp

Date: November 19 - 21, 2018
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. • Extended care 8 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 5 p.m.
Cost: $90
• Extended Care: $15
Campers learn about the rock cycle through hands-on activities. They will start a rock collection, make a volcano, dig for real fossils, break open geodes and go on hikes. Limit of 30 campers.

Pioneer Camp

Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. • Extended care 8 to 9 a.m. and 4 to 5 p.m.
Cost: $80
• Extended Care: $15
Campers experience a time when family, friendship, and character were as important as food, water, and shelter. Activities are adapted from the Association of Experiential Education to foster team building.Limit of 20 campers.
