Children's Plant Fair

Child Holding a Potted Plant

Children learn the responsibility of caring for a plant and discover the self-satisfaction in raising something. Most importantly, gardening is a great way for parents and children to bond in the great outdoors.

Children in pre-school to fifth grade can participate in the fair by:

Step 1: Grow one or more plants or trees in a container.

Step 2: Bring your plant and registration card for “Show and Tell” to the festival between 10 a.m. and 3 p.m. on Saturday or Sunday. Children show their plant and give information about growing plants. Each participant will receive a good bay. The first 100 participants each day will also receive a free t-shirt.

Flower Show

The Garden Club of St. Petersburg members display their creativity through juried floral designs and crafts interpreting gardens from around the world. Exhibits are designed with a new theme each year.

The public is invited to vote for best of show in both the horticulture and floral design category. Also, local middle school students showcase their science fair entries.

Judging occurs the Friday before the festival and awards are given to the winners at the festival on Sunday at 3 p.m. in Walter Fuller Recreation Center. All judges are from clubs within the Florida Federation of Garden Clubs District VIII and are judged using standards set by the National Garden Clubs, Inc.
